A note from your Recreation Director
Hello and Happy Holidays to All!! Can you believe it is December of 2023 already? The year has gone by so fast.
I have completed my first year as your Recreation Director. I have been trying my best and working hard to assure our recreation department has the best rec department in the area. I want to “Thank” recreation chairman, Remy Bernardon, Secretary Maryann Brindisi, and all of your commissioners, who work hard with each sport they are given to make sure everything runs smoothly and is successful. Thank you to all of the sports Directors for stepping up to run each sport and make it the best they can for the children.
The recreation department is always adding new programs or events for you to get involved with. Some are successful and maybe just a few, not so much.
We had our first Murder Mystery Dinner this past year and it was a huge success. Everyone who attended had so much fun. We are planning another one in April of 2024. More info is in this newsletter.
Our National Night Out is always a huge success with a lot of our residents coming out and enjoying the evening.
Our Movies and Concerts (some rained out) were a success. We will be planning more in 2024
Our programs at the recreation center are excelling. Fitness classes, pickleball, coed open gym basketball, and our main recreation room. We would like to see more participation from our residents in the main rec room. There will be a few survey questions later in the newsletter.
Our 2024 calendar of events is looking prety good. We have a lot planned for your enjoyment. Read more and you will see what going on

A MESSAGE FROM YOUR RECREATION CHAIRMAN
The Fall rec season for all of our sports have wrapped up.
*Football had another successful season. This year the Senior squad made the playoffs and hosted a playoff game.
*Rec Cheer is finished and Competitive Cheer is starting
*Rec soccer wrapped up a rain filled season. Year end surveys were distributed and on a scale of 1-5 scores for fun, value, the coaches, and entertaining were all over 4.2
*Travel soccer is complete. This was the first joint season with Ringwood. There were three flight winners. Feedback on the season was all positive.
Winter sports and activities are well underway
*The Radio City bus trip was sold out
*Travel basketball games are just about to begin
*Rec basketball practices have begun
*Winter indoor soccer will be beginning/registration is open
*Adult nighttime pickleball registration is open on ticket bud
*Fitness classes are ongoing
*Snow tubing registration is open
My focus is to get more residents registered on our two mail new sites:

ADULT COED NIGHTIME PICKLEBALL
Our Pickleball day and time had to be moved due to our basketball schedule.
For the months of December thru the middle of March, the new day and time is starting on:
SUNDAY DECEMBER 3RD FROM 8PM-10PM

RECREATION CENTER SURVEY QUESTIONS:
- Are you aware we have a recreation center
- Are you aware of the days and hours we are open
- Are you aware of what we do in the rec center
- What would you like to see in the rec center (programs/events/different days-hours open)
- Would you be interested in running a program or event
- Would you be interested in volunteering to help run a program or event
